In an intimate setting, Dorith Mous and Marc Schmidheiny presented three short films from the poignant series ‘Together Alone’. It was an evening that made a deep impression on us, both cinematically and emotionally.
The audience was invited to immerse themselves in the ‘inner landscapes’ – Dorith’s term for emotional worlds – of the protagonists. Each short film tells the story of one person, transparently recounting their personal experiences with mental health. Like windows into individual worlds, the films offer viewers insight into collective experiences that are both emotionally moving and thought-provoking.
With exceptional sensitivity, the artists guided us through the evening, creating spaces for dialogue and connection between strangers. The evening encouraged us to recognize gentleness as a strength and embrace the full depth of humanity.
Dorith Mous is a multidisciplinary artist and filmmaker who founded the platform ‘Sharing the Narrative’. Having started her career in front of the camera, she shifted her focus to making emotions tangible and revealing the human depth behind the lens. Through projects such as the New York exhibition I Am You and her film series Together Alone, she promotes mental health in an artistic and socially relevant manner.
Seven of the eight films are now available to watch on watchargo.com — perfect for anyone who appreciates authentic storytelling and mental health advocacy.
