„THIS IS (NOT) AMERICA” Photo exhibition by Kiki Kausch at AchtBerlin

Set amidst the architectural diversity of the venue, including the coworking space, cinema bar, reception area and stairwell, „THIS IS (NOT) AMERICA“ is a highly topical exhibition. Through large-format photographs taken between 2010 and 2016, Berlin-based photographer Kiki Kausch contrasts the America before Donald Trump with the America of today.

Her photographs capture moments that, in retrospect, appear to foreshadow social change. These include images of international students, Hollywood stars, and landscapes stretching from California to Greenland. She captured international students before they were threatened with deportation, as well as Hollywood stars and landscapes stretching from California to Greenland. Her work invites reflection on identity, power and change, creating a visual tension between aesthetics and political statement within our spaces.
